For the past days  I am torn on what to do with my meager salary and how I will be able to increase it. Again, I have already stated in my previous post that I have no desire to change my job until I feel that I really need to do it. I believe there must be something else that I can do besides changing jobs to earn money. Since learning and venturing into the avenue of online jobs I have found there are lots of things that I can do. I may not be the creative writer type, but I know I can write. So I started my quest of writing to earn money as a career.

For the last few days I have been preparing my students for the National Career Assessment Exam (NCAE), which will take place tomorrow, August 26, 2009. The review was not really extensive, since we had so little time to do it. However, I hope that my students will do well tomorrow.

Here is something unique in the netbook world as Nokia dropped a bombshell this morning by introducing the Nokia Booklet 3G. Sporting a better screen resolution than the ordinary Eee PC, it also carries with it an integrated 3G wireless and a hot-swappable SIM. This new hot gadget is definitely  trying to define its own niche. Probably, it will be running Windows 7 and also has integrated A-GPS with a copy of Ovi Maps,  HDMI output, a supposedly 12 hour battery life, and the usual Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity

For the past months I have been looking for available online jobs, which I believe will be a good way of earning extra money. Earning just a meager $83.00 dollars a month and trying to survive in it is no easy task. I can always opt to find another job and I have been, many times, offered jobs in which wages are 5x to 8x more than my current wage. But changing jobs is out of the question. I have decided long ago that my current teaching job is a ministry given to me by God and I will only find another job if things do not look like His work anymore.  So for me, online jobs are the way to go in terms of earning extra money, besides, living in the province does not provide many opportunities.

nokia-5530-preorder

It seems that many of my guests coming to this blog were eagerly anticipating the availability of the Nokia 5530 in stores. As of now Nokia has not yet announced any fixed date as to when it would be officially be on store shelves. What I know, however, is that pre-order has been going on for days already and it is up for $290. This price seems quite high for a 2G phone but I believe the introductory price is temporary. Basically Nokia will opt to sell it at a lower price than the 5800 (hopefully). Another issue with this introductory price is the fact that the 5800 is already selling below the #300 mark creating a dilemma of whether to buy the 5530 or the 5800. So I guess it will be up to the buyer to choose–better  home screen design, larger processor vs. bigger screen, GPS, 3G. Read the rest of this entry »

Howdah? It’s not the latest craze word nor the latest slang word. It is actually the last and final question asked during the latest episode of Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Fortunately, the person had no idea what it is. So why am I blogging this?

Nokia’s flagship model the N97 was murderously criticized upon it’s release, but honestly, I care less. Even with its many drawbacks, I believe that with upcoming firmware updates, some of the known software issues will somewhat be resolved.
